The only regulated and recognised awarding organisation for paddlesport is proud to announce a significant milestone in professional assurance.
Since the launch of our regulated Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Instructor qualification in 2023, we have now officially surpassed 1,000 certifications issued.
This milestone represents more than just a number; it reflects a growing commitment across the industry to high quality, regulated coaching and instruction. As the only awarding body in the UK offering regulated paddlesport qualifications, reaching this target in just under three years demonstrates the incredible demand for credible, standardised, and professional qualifications within the SUP community.
Why Regulation Matters
Choosing a regulated qualification ensures that instructors are assessed against a robust national framework, providing peace of mind to employers, deployers, and the public. Our Level 1 SUP Instructor Award is designed to empower instructors with the skills to introduce others to the sport safely and effectively in a very sheltered water environment.
Lee Pooley, Responsible Officer for British Canoeing Awarding Body, commented: “Reaching 1,000 certifications since 2023 is a testament to the hard work of our Delivery Centres, Providers, and the candidates themselves. As the paddlesport landscape evolves, professional assurance remains at the heart of what we do. We are delighted to see so many instructors choosing a regulated pathway to kickstart their professional journey.”
