The Stand Up Paddleboard White Water Leader aims to support paddleboarders to lead journeys on grade 2(3) white water rivers. The award aligns to the BCAB Educational Philosophy and supports leaders to run safe, quality, enjoyable trips, based on their group’s needs and aspirations.
This award is ideal for clubs, centres and activity providers looking to lead stand up paddleboarders on white water.
The SUP White Water Leader Assessment can be run over 1-2 days. The SUP White Water Leader will be working from their suitable chosen white water SUP and will be assessed leading a group of 3 to 6 paddleboarders.
Key features of the SUP White Water Leader include –
- Direct access to the environment you want to lead
- No formal BCAB Leadership training requirements
- Single day assessments, allowing more agility, reducing time and expenditure
- Supportive resources available such as the Leadership eLearning, Leading and Guiding in Unfamiliar Environments eLearning and Guidance for Stand Up Paddleboard Coaches and Leaders operating in a white water environment
- Downloadable digital logbook to support the recording of activity.
