British Canoeing Awarding Body announces the NEW Personal Performance Awards

“British Canoeing Awarding Body is delighted to be announcing the NEW Personal Performance Awards that will replace the existing ‘Star Awards’ from January 2019.  The development of the NEW awards has been an exciting project with many paddlers involved in creating Personal Performance Awards for paddlers, as well as people new to paddlesport.

This is such an exciting time for British Canoeing Awarding Body to have awards that are paddler focused, develops confidence, decision making and skills in a craft and environment that the individual chooses.”

– Lee Pooley, British Canoeing Awarding Body Responsible Officer

The process of completing the awards is based on learning and, as such, the ethos of ‘supporting the paddler’ is the main focus of all the awards, encouraging individuals in their personal development.

Further details can be found here

Over the coming months, further updates will be promoted via the British Canoeing Awarding Body website, the Paddle UK website and the ‘Catch Up with Coaching’ newsletter.

100th episode of the Coaching Podcast

In May, we celebrated a very special episode of the Coaching Podcast, as we reached the 100th episode.

The Coaching Podcast has had over 35,000 downloads, with 74% of downloads from the UK. We also have listeners in 70 different countries, including the United States, Denmark and Germany, as well as Greenland, Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe!

Hugely successful, in 2023 the podcast won Podcast of the Year at the UK Coaching Awards. This could not be done without our inspiring and enthusiastic guests who give up their time to appear on the episodes. We have had 79 different guests over the seasons, with many people giving up their time to appear on multiple episodes.
