British Canoeing Awarding Body is delighted to announce that Chris Evans will be joining the quality assurance and standardisation team.
Chris has been involved in paddlesports since the age of eight and instructing/coaching since the age of seventeen, working for Local Education Authority Centres, Independent Providers and, more recently, the National Outdoor Centre, Plas Y Brenin, and will be a great addition to the Awarding Body.
“I’ve picked up numerous coaching, instructing and leadership qualifications from a number of National Governing Bodies but the ones that really drove and inspired me were the qualifications from Paddle UK, everything from my BCU Level 2 Instructor training course (as it was then) up to the completion of my Paddle UK Coaching Diploma and subsequent Masters in Performance Coaching. I’ve seen a few changes in the British Canoeing Awarding Body qualifications and awards in my career and the recent changes to being more learner-focused have been quite refreshing.
It’s been a real privilege to be involved in the provision of these awards, as both a provider and national trainer, and I’m very excited to become involved in the processes involved in the role of External Quality Assurer for British Canoeing Awarding Body.”
