NEW Manual Handling for Paddlesport eLearning

British Canoeing Awarding Body is pleased to share the Manual Handling for Paddlesport eLearning which covers different types of manual handling, how we can consider and manage risk and shows the steps we can take when manual handling to better protect our bodies.

Throughout paddlesport, there are many occasions when we are lifting, carrying and moving craft, as well as performing rescues.  It’s essential we reflect on current practice and consider whether we are putting ourselves and others in potential danger of damaging joints and muscles, particularly when moving or lifting equipment or people.

We can be at risk of injury from poor manual handling, whether working in paddlesport or as a recreational paddler, so this eLearning is for anyone new to the topic looking for actionable tips.

The eLearning is FREE and will count as 5 CPD points for Instructors, Coaches, Leaders and Guides.

100th episode of the Coaching Podcast

In May, we celebrated a very special episode of the Coaching Podcast, as we reached the 100th episode.

The Coaching Podcast has had over 35,000 downloads, with 74% of downloads from the UK. We also have listeners in 70 different countries, including the United States, Denmark and Germany, as well as Greenland, Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe!

Hugely successful, in 2023 the podcast won Podcast of the Year at the UK Coaching Awards. This could not be done without our inspiring and enthusiastic guests who give up their time to appear on the episodes. We have had 79 different guests over the seasons, with many people giving up their time to appear on multiple episodes.
