British Canoeing Awarding Body is pleased to announce that it has developed an alternative pathway for Racing Coaches, and will be offering two regulated qualifications from the 5th January 2024:
- Racing Coach (Sheltered Water)
- Racing Coach (Moderate Inland Water)
During a review of the existing pathway for Racing Coaches, it was evident that many clubs do not operate within the environmental definitions of moderate inland water and the need to provide opportunities for those coaching racing within clubs to gain a regulated qualification.
“The new pathways better reflect the environments that Racing coaches operate within, enabling those that have already attended a training course to choose the environment that they are assessed in, as well as providing choice to those at the start of their coaching journey.”
